Operations Supervisor

My name is Jérémy DUPEUBLE, Recruitment Consultant at FED ManuTech, specialized in engineering and manufacturing roles, and I am looking for an Operations Supervisor for a well-established manufacturing company located in Terrebonne.

Mission

Your Role
• Coordinate day-to-day operations (shop, yard, inventory, shipping / receiving) to meet deadlines, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Be physically present on the floor: oversee activities, support the team, handle last-minute issues and adjust priorities in real time.
• Lead the daily morning huddles to review priorities, safety topics, production / preparation targets and resource allocation.
• Plan and follow up on order preparation, inbound deliveries and stock movements between the shop, yard and warehouse.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and internal procedures, take corrective actions when needed and promote a safety-first culture.
• Monitor a few key performance indicators (on-time delivery, picking errors, incidents, etc.) and suggest improvement actions.
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives: shop and yard organization, 5S practices, workflow and layout optimization.
• Handle first-level people management: onboarding and training of new employees, basic performance follow-up and disciplinary actions in collaboration with management.
• Work closely with management and the office / sales team to plan priorities and handle urgent customer requests.

Your profile

Your Profile
• 3–7 years of experience supervising operational teams in a manufacturing, distribution, logistics or construction environment (shop, warehouse, yard, distribution center, etc.).
• Solid background in front-line team management: shift planning, attendance management, coaching and conflict resolution.
• Strong hands-on mindset, comfortable in a physical and seasonal environment with peak periods and changing priorities.
• Human and empathetic leadership style, able to listen, explain, motivate and build trust with blue-collar teams.
• Strong organizational skills, sense of priorities and follow-through.
• Comfortable with basic computer tools (email, simple Excel use, in-house system or light ERP for orders and inventory).
• Assets: experience with building materials, outdoor products, steel / metal; exposure to basic continuous improvement tools (5S, Lean).
Working Conditions
• Permanent, full-time position.
• Day shift from Monday to Friday, with flexibility during peak season (possible overtime / extended presence).
• Annual salary in the 80,000 $ to 110,000 $ range, depending on experience and scope of responsibilities.
