I’m currently recruiting for an independent pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Dorval, specializing in contract manufacturing (CMO) for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and natural health product industries. This organization is known for its hands-on leadership style, collaborative culture, and operational agility, and is now looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who can play a key role in rebuilding and strengthening the plant’s maintenance structure.

Mission
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will act as the plant’s maintenance lead and trusted technical partner, overseeing both production equipment and critical building utility systems within a GMP-regulated environment.
This position combines technical leadership, capital project management, continuous improvement, and hands-on operational involvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supervising maintenance technicians, mechanics, and external contractors
Rebuilding and improving the preventive and predictive maintenance program
Ensuring reliability of production equipment and critical utilities systems, including:
HVAC
purified water/WFI
compressed air
Coordinating maintenance activities with Production, Quality, and Operations teams to minimize downtime
Supporting technical investigations, root cause analysis, CAPA activities, and change control processes
Ensuring GMP/GxP compliance across maintenance activities and documentation
Participating in asset lifecycle evaluation and CAPEX planning
Managing technical improvement and equipment optimization projects from start to finish
Implementing maintenance KPIs, tools, and process improvements within a currently Excel-driven environment
Coordinating specialized contractors related to building systems and utilities
Promoting a strong health & safety and continuous improvement culture
The role is roughly divided between:
50–60% project management and continuous improvement
40–50% technical supervision and hands-on operational support
This person will become the plant’s key maintenance resource and will have significant influence on operational strategy and maintenance development.
Working Conditions
Salary: $75,000 to $100,000
Permanent full-time position
Day schedule:
37.5 hours/week
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
No 24/7 operations

Your profile
Background in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical field, or related discipline
Strong equivalent experience considered even without an engineering title
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance
Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Food manufacturing or other highly regulated GMP environments may also be considered
Strong understanding of:
GMP/GxP regulations
Change Control
CAPA processes
equipment validation activities
Hands-on experience with building utility systems:
HVAC
purified water systems
compressed air
Strong floor leadership and ability to build structure within a changing environment
Autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
Ability to manage priorities and make decisions efficiently
Fully bilingual English/French required
production environment is predominantly English-speaking
