Maintenance Manager

I’m currently recruiting for a well-established food manufacturing company known for its operational stability, strong production environment, and long-term growth opportunities.
As part of a major maintenance department transformation (“Maintenance 2.0”), they are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor who can combine technical expertise, team leadership, and process improvement.
Mission
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Director, you will oversee the daily operations of a maintenance team of approximately 7 technicians and electromechanics across multiple shifts.
Your main objective will be to ensure equipment reliability while helping structure and improve preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising maintenance activities on production equipment and building systems
Planning, prioritizing, and following up on preventive and corrective maintenance tasks
Identifying root causes of failures and implementing sustainable solutions
Managing the CMMS system and improving maintenance processes
Overseeing spare parts inventory, technical purchasing, and maintenance stockroom operations
Coaching, supporting, and developing your maintenance team
Working closely with production, quality, and operations teams to ensure smooth plant performance
Ensuring compliance with HACCP, SQF, CNESST, and all safety and hygiene standards required in food manufacturing
This is a key role within a department currently being rebuilt and optimized, with strong visibility and real impact on plant performance.
Your profile
We are looking for a strong technical leader who is respected on the floor and able to bring structure to an experienced maintenance team.
You ideally bring:
A technical diploma in engineering, industrial maintenance, or another relevant field
At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar maintenance leadership role
Previous hands-on experience as an electromechanic, maintenance technician, or maintenance supervisor
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and building maintenance
Proven experience leading industrial maintenance teams
Solid understanding of root cause analysis, PDCA, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods
Good experience with CMMS systems (knowledge of Intéral is a strong asset)
Familiarity with HACCP / SQF standards in food manufacturing is a strong plus
Strong French and English communication skills
Experience with industrial refrigeration is also considered a valuable asset.
Working Conditions
Salary between $80K and $105K depending on experience
