Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

I’m currently recruiting for a well-established Quebec manufacturer serving the building products industry. With its Drummondville facility continuing to grow, the company is creating a new Manufacturing Operations Supervisor position to support the Operations Director and help coordinate day-to-day activities across the site. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a strong focus on logistics and material flow, while also working closely with production and maintenance teams.
Mission
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will help ensure smooth coordination between logistics, production and maintenance.
You will play a key role in managing material flow, supporting employees on the shop floor and improving the way the different departments work together.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operational activities within your area of responsibility
-Oversee incoming materials, inventory levels, storage and material flow
-Support forecasting and planning to ensure materials are available when needed
-Coordinate priorities between logistics, production and maintenance
-Identify operational issues and help implement practical solutions
-Supervise and support team members while encouraging their development and autonomy
-Follow up on preventive maintenance activities in collaboration with the maintenance team
-Participate in operational planning and priority setting
-Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
-Maintain a regular presence on the shop floor and act as a link between employees and management
-Work closely with the Operations Director on site priorities and ongoing operational needs
Your profile
Your Profile:
-College diploma or university degree in operations management, production, logistics, mechanical engineering technology, electromechanics or a related field
-5+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
-Previous experience supervising or managing a small team
-Good understanding of manufacturing operations, logistics, inventory management and material flow
-Comfortable working across several departments and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
-Exposure to industrial maintenance is an asset, but advanced mechanical or electrical expertise is not required
-Able to step back and look at operations as a whole while remaining actively involved on the shop floor
-Collaborative leadership style with clear communication and the ability to build trust with employees
Conditions:
-Base salary between $70,000 and $85,000, depending on experience;-
-Permanent, full-time position
-Monday to Thursday: 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
-Friday: finish at noon
-No regular weekend work
-Opportunity to work additional evening hours when needed, paid at 1.5 times the regular rate
-Total annual compensation can reach approximately $100,000 depending on overtime worked
