We are currently partnering with a well-established Canadian manufacturer specializing in the design and fabrication of custom stainless-steel equipment serving the food processing, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors.
Mission
Due to continued growth and an increasing project pipeline, the company is looking to add a Mechanical Designer to its engineering team.
Your Role
Reporting to the Design Department, you will play a key role in developing and delivering custom industrial equipment projects from concept to manufacturing.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and modeling industrial equipment using Solid Edge;
Producing manufacturing, assembly and detailed technical drawings;
Developing customized engineering solutions based on customer requirements;
Preparing technical specifications and design calculations;
Updating and improving existing designs when required;
Conducting occasional site visits and field measurements;
Working closely with project managers, production teams and technical stakeholders;
Preparing technical documentation required for material procurement;
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to design and manufacturing processes.
Your profile
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Drafting or equivalent;
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position;
Strong proficiency with Solid Edge;
Knowledge of AutoCAD is considered an asset;
Experience in welded fabrication and industrial manufacturing environments;
Good understanding of fabrication methods, welding processes and metal materials;
Comfortable working with both metric and imperial measurements;
Experience with stainless steel equipment or food processing applications is a strong asset;
Hands-on, proactive and solution-oriented mindset;
Strong communication and collaboration skills;
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities;
Positive attitude and willingness to contribute within a growing organization.
Working Conditions
Full-time permanent position;
Day schedule with flexible working hours;
40-hour work week;
Hourly salary between $28 and $38 based on experience;
