Power Electronics Test & Validation Technician

I am currently recruiting for a fast-growing technology manufacturer based in Montreal that is developing innovative motor control solutions designed to improve industrial energy efficiency worldwide.
This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in transforming advanced electronic prototypes into certified, production-ready products while working alongside a highly skilled engineering team.
Mission
As part of the product development team, you will contribute directly to the testing, validation and industrialization of advanced power electronics products.
You will be responsible for designing and maintaining laboratory test setups, executing validation plans, troubleshooting electronic systems and supporting product certification activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, building and maintaining test benches and laboratory infrastructure.
Executing electrical and performance testing on power electronic equipment.
Troubleshooting electronic systems down to component level.
Performing both SMT and through-hole soldering operations.
Preparing detailed test reports, procedures and operation manuals.
Supporting certification activities with third-party organizations such as UL and ETL.
Managing laboratory inventory and ensuring a safe, organized work environment.
Collaborating closely with engineering, product development and validation teams.
Your profile
Your Profile:
-Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
-Minimum 5 years of experience in a hardware development or electronics environment.
-Strong SMT and through-hole soldering skills.
-Proven electronic troubleshooting experience.
-Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
-Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs and laboratory instrumentation.
-Experience writing technical reports and documentation.
-Comfortable working with three-phase electrical systems up to 600 Vac.
-Professional English required.
-Experience with motor controls, VFDs or power electronics is a strong asset.
-Knowledge of LabVIEW or Python for test automation is an asset.
-Quebec Construction Electrician License (Licence C) is considered an asset.
