Project Engineer

I’m currently recruiting a Project Engineer for a manufacturing company specializing in the custom design and manufacturing of automated industrial equipment for industries such as automotive, aerospace, rail, heavy transportation and general manufacturing.
This is a key role for an engineer looking to take ownership of complex projects from concept and design through to equipment delivery.
Mission
Your Role :
Lead the development of automated and integrated equipment concepts based on customer requirements.
Oversee mechanical deliverables, including approval drawings, manufacturing drawings and process schematics.
Review and document engineering calculations to ensure equipment safety, reliability and performance.
Manage mechanical design budgets while optimizing cost and quality.
Work closely with purchasing teams and suppliers to select appropriate components.
Contribute to design standardization and process improvements.
Support innovation initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and accelerating project delivery.
Work directly with customers on complex, highly customized projects.
Working Conditions :
Salary starting at $89,000 per year, depending on experience.
Permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week.
Flexible schedule with Friday afternoons off year-round.
3 weeks of vacation, including the annual company shutdown.

Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of engineering experience, ideally within custom equipment design and manufacturing.
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Strong written and spoken French and English.
Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and/or electrical controls is an asset.
Strong technical problem-solving and project management skills.
Autonomous, organized and comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
