Introduction
Hello, I’m Simon Mathé, Recruitment Consultant at FED ManuTech, specializing in engineering and manufacturing positions.
I am currently recruiting a Production Supervisor for a permanent evening shift, from 11 p.m to 7 a.m., with a large manufacturing company located in Sherbrooke.
You will work in a material-processing environment where production collaborates closely with quality, maintenance, logistics and technical teams. Your mandate will be to engage your team, structure shift execution and achieve health and safety, quality and performance objectives.
The company is looking for a hands-on manager who understands the realities of the shop floor, establishes clear expectations and takes action when results or behaviours do not meet expectations.
Mission
Your Responsibilities:
-Supervise production activities during the night shift
-Lead production employees and the team leader under your responsibility
-Assign work and adjust priorities according to operational requirements
-Maintain an active shop-floor presence and regularly follow up with employees
-Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality and production requirements
-Monitor performance indicators and implement the required actions
-Manage unexpected situations and make the decisions needed to maintain operations
-Support employee onboarding, training and development
-Evaluate performance and address behavioural, attendance or productivity issues
-Collaborate with maintenance, quality, logistics and other production teams
-Ensure a structured transfer of information with weekday teams
-Participate in Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives
-Approve hours worked and complete administrative follow-ups related to the team
Your profile
Requirements:
-Minimum of five years of experience supervising or managing a production team
-Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
-Education in business administration, operations management, industrial engineering or a related field considered an asset
-Hands-on leadership style combining empathy, structure and managerial courage
-Ability to manage a team autonomously during weekend operations
-Experience in performance management, employee development and corrective action
-Ability to use KPIs to understand performance gaps and guide decisions
-Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement principles
-Sound judgment and ability to make decisions under pressure
-Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
-Experience in a unionized environment considered an asset
-Previous experience in rubber or polymers is not required. Candidates from other structured manufacturing environments will be considered if they bring strong people-management experience.
Conditions:

-Annual salary of approximately $90,000 to $95,000, depending on experience
