Production Supervisor
Introduction
My client, a Quebec-based food processing company specializing in vacuum-packed meat products and ready-to-eat meals, is looking for its next Production Supervisor to lead the packaging department. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on supervisor who thrives on the floor, close to the team and the action.
Mission
Reporting to the Production Foreman, you will take charge of the packaging department: around 80 employees across two packaging lines at start-up, with a daily routine spent 95% on the production floor.
On a day-to-day basis, you organize the work, set priorities, and ensure production schedules are met. You coach and mobilize your team, develop their skills, and maintain a healthy, productive work environment. You work closely with maintenance to ensure equipment availability and participate in machine programming. Managing dry-area allergens and applying GMP standards are also part of your responsibilities.
Health and safety are at the core of your role: you lead by example on the floor and ensure that every team member works in a safe environment. You also actively contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing processes and productivity within the department.
Once you are well established in the role, you will support the Production Supervisor (approximately 60 employees), opening up a clear path toward a Foreman position in the medium term.
Your profile
Your Profile
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a team leader or supervisor, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in the food industry is a strong asset
• A strong health and safety mindset, with rigor in applying GMP standards
• A hands-on leadership style, strong listening skills, and the ability to engage a team
• Comfortable coordinating operations and prioritizing production activities
