Mechanical Engineer

Introduction

Hello,
I’m Simon Mathé, Recruitment Consultant at FED ManuTech, specialized in engineering, technical and manufacturing roles.

I’m currently recruiting for a manufacturing company specialized in the design and integration of custom automated systems. They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who wants to combine design, project management and field involvement in a highly technical environment where every project is unique.

Mission

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing your projects from initial design through final commissioning at the client site.

You will conduct site visits and gather technical data directly from customers to fully understand operational needs and project constraints. You will act as a key technical contact throughout the project lifecycle.

A major part of your role will focus on mechanical design: layouts, fabrication drawings, installation plans and concept validation. You will ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete and ready for production.

You will also manage component selection, purchasing requests and delivery follow-up to ensure project timelines are respected.

Working closely with production and assembly teams, you will monitor fabrication progress and quickly resolve technical issues when needed.

You will supervise on-site installations, support system commissioning and ensure optimal equipment performance once operational. At the end of each project, you will conduct project post-mortems to identify improvement opportunities.

Health and safety compliance, along with machine safety standards, will remain an important part of your responsibilities throughout each mandate.

Your profile

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and are a member of the OIQ.

You have 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical design, ideally within manufacturing environments or automated systems integration.

You are proficient with SolidWorks and AutoCAD and have strong experience designing industrial equipment, interpreting technical drawings and supporting fabrication processes.

Knowledge of machine safety standards is essential for success in this role.

You are fully fluent in French and have functional English to communicate with suppliers, customers and technical documentation when required.

We are looking for someone autonomous, creative, detail-oriented and versatile, with strong project ownership and a practical field-oriented mindset.

Benefits include:
