Technical Lead – Industrial Automation & Electrical Design

I’m currently recruiting a Technical Lead in Industrial Automation and Electrical Design for a manufacturing company specializing in the design and production of automated industrial equipment.
This position is ideal for an experienced technical professional looking to take a central role in electrical design, controls programming and technical standards, while acting as a technical reference for the team.
Mission
Your Role :
Work closely with engineers, designers and project managers to define electrical and automation requirements.
Define, review and approve control panel architectures, electrical schematics, BOMs and layouts.
Oversee and validate PLC, HMI, VFD, industrial network and machine safety programming.
Develop and maintain electrical design and programming standards, including libraries, templates and validation methods.
Ensure designs meet customer requirements, applicable standards and electrical and machine safety practices.
Conduct technical reviews and participate in internal testing, FATs, commissioning and troubleshooting.
Provide technical support to service teams and assist with electrical, controls and programming issues.
Support the sales team with technical requirements and quotation preparation.
Participate in failure analysis and define appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Act as a technical reference and provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to team members.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving engineering tools, products and processes.
Working Conditions:

40-hour workweek with a 1:00 p.m. finish on Fridays.

Your profile
Degree or technical training in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Automated Production Engineering or a related field.
Significant experience in industrial automation and control panel design.
Strong ability to read and produce electrical schematics.
Solid knowledge of control and power component selection.
Advanced PLC and HMI programming experience.
Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation and Siemens is an asset.
Good knowledge of VFDs, instrumentation, industrial networks and machine safety systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software.
Knowledge of CSA, UL 508A, NFPA 79 and the Canadian Electrical Code is an asset.
Strong technical leadership, analytical skills and sound judgment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work with multidisciplinary teams.
Fluency in French and English, spoken and written.
