Senior Data Engineer - Montreal's North Shore (hybrid)
Introduction
My client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in the design and evolution of enterprise data platforms across both Cloud and On-Premise environments.
Mission
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance data solutions that support critical business initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and developing modern data architectures across Cloud and On-Premise environments.
Building and maintaining reliable, secure and scalable data pipelines.
Contributing to large-scale data transformation and analytics initiatives.
Establishing best practices in data engineering and platform development.
Developing APIs to collect, process and expose data efficiently.
Supporting automation, testing and deployment processes through CI/CD practices.
Working closely with cross-functional teams within an Agile (Scrum) environment.
Ensuring data quality, performance, governance and security standards are met.
Your profile
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
Strong hands-on experience developing data solutions on AWS.
Deep knowledge of AWS services related to data storage, processing and analytics.
Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, governance and security.
Experience designing and developing APIs.
Strong programming skills in Python, Java or Scala.
Advanced SQL expertise.
Experience with ETL technologies and frameworks.
Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment practices.
Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as:
Apache Spark
Apache Airflow
MongoDB
Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
