Hello, I'm Bianka, Senior Team Leader at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in accounting, finance, and payroll positions. I handle both temporary and permanent recruitment in the Greater Montreal area.
Mission
As the Director, Finance, you will be responsible for assessing the team’s processes and procedures to implement improvements and efficiencies as well as reviewing and providing proper guidelines.
Reporting to the CFO and as a member of the Leadership Team, you will be responsible for overseeing all finance functions including financial controls, reporting, treasury, compliance, and financial/business planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the final review and timely issuance of complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as any other required management status reports
- Oversee the preparation of Management’s monthly reporting package and analysis of variances
- Lead annual audits and any required government tax audits with the accounting firm
- Lead the annual budget process and forecasting processes
- Ensure cross-functional coordination of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost‑improvement efforts
- Assist in the 3‑year strategic planning process and financial modeling
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants, including associated reporting to bankers
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Ensure adherence to established FX policy to minimize the effects of adverse exchange‑rate fluctuations on the company’s financial position
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures in compliance with professional standards
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Manage and develop the Accounting team through performance management, skill development, and training
Your profile
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related work experience in a financial leadership role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA designation
- Must be bilingual in French and English, both oral & written
- Experience in financial planning, analysis, and budgeting
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables & VLOOKUP Function)
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience in wholesale apparel required
- Retail, distribution, manufacturing or similar business an asset
- Consistently delivers on time and drives for results
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and thrives on building, motivating and coaching teams to optimal performance
