Mission
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Controller / Business Partner to join our Finance team in Montreal. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Controller will play a strategic role in financial leadership, performance management, and operational decision‑making support across all activities. This position involves overseeing financial reporting, driving cost‑optimization initiatives, strengthening internal controls, and leading accounting teams, while acting as a trusted business partner to plant and operations leadership.
Your responsibilities:
• Ensure the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close and production of financial reports in accordance with IFRS/ASPE standards.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, rolling forecasts, and long‑term financial planning for all operational sites.
• Collaborate with Operations, Plant Management, Procurement, and Logistics teams to support performance and profitability.
• Provide detailed cost analysis related to scrap purchasing, production efficiency, inventory valuation, and transportation costs.
• Oversee the accuracy of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial data integrity.
• Lead and develop accounting teams, ensuring high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and audit readiness across the organization. Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives within financial systems and ERP platforms.
• Develop executive dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and performance reports to support management decision‑making.
Your profile
To join our team:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation is a strong asset (or nearing completion with solid relevant experience).
• 5 to 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or raw materials sectors.
• Proven experience managing and developing accounting or finance teams.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial data into operational insights.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS/ASPE standards and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder‑management skills.
