Mission

Reporting to the Finance Department, the Senior Accounting Analyst plays a key role in monthly closing activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing in-depth financial analyses and carrying out complex account reconciliations for the balance sheet and income statement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take responsibility for producing monthly financial reports and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for a given scope
- Act as a point of contact for accounting and tax-related matters within their area of expertise

Actively participate in the monthly closing process, including:
- Preparing and posting recurring journal entries
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
- Record various provisions, including those related to taxes
- Assist with certain tax and reporting obligations
- Participate in the valuation and monitoring of inventories
- Produce periodic financial reports, including financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement)
- Analysing balance sheet and income statement items
- Producing various financial and management reports
- Assisting with the preparation of audited annual financial statements and related disclosures
- Participating in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with various recognised accounting standards (e.g. international or North American standards)
- Analyse, where necessary, specific transactions in the light of applicable accounting standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and internal controls
- Assist with certain financial planning activities (budgeting, forecasting)
- Collaborate on various audit engagements (internal, external and tax)

Your profile

PROFILE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance (or equivalent);
• CPA qualification (or equivalent);
• At least 5 years’ relevant professional experience in accounting;
• Experience in the manufacturing sector and/or the agri-food industry is an advantage;
• Experience in tax reporting and compliance, an asset;
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and a good understanding of US GAAP;
• Knowledge of and/or interest in tax legislation (including US);
• Team player, able to build good relationships with other team members;
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to adapt to change and identify areas for improvement;
• Proficiency in handling large datasets in Excel;
• Good communication skills, both written and oral;
• Bilingual: French and English (proficiency in both languages to interact with stakeholders in Canada and the United States).
