Production Manager – Evening Shift

I’m currently recruiting a Production Manager for a Quebec-based food manufacturing company. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced production environment where teamwork, operational performance and strong floor presence are essential.
Mission
Your Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee all production activities on the evening shift, covering 4 departments, more than 10 production lines and approximately 100 employees.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning, organizing and overseeing daily production activities;
Leading and supporting teams alongside 3 Production Supervisors and 8 to 10 Team Leaders;
Ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality, efficiency and operational discipline;
Addressing production issues and making timely, practical decisions;
Ensuring compliance with food manufacturing, quality, health and safety standards;
Maintaining a respectful, collaborative and motivating work environment;
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives;
Remaining highly visible on the production floor and providing hands-on support to the teams.
The role is approximately 60% floor-based and 40% office-based.
Working Conditions
Base salary around $85,000;
Evening shift premium and performance bonus;
Total compensation around $90,000;

Your profile
Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing;
Experience managing production teams, ideally including Supervisors or multiple teams;
Knowledge of HACCP and SQF standards;
Strong production planning and organizational skills;
Collaborative and coaching-oriented leadership style;
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
High emotional intelligence, adaptability and sound decision-making skills;
Clear, structured and solution-oriented communication;
Comfortable making quick decisions and managing ambiguity.
Experience in a hands-on, people-focused production environment is strongly preferred.
