Introduction

Hello,

I'm Simon Mathé, Recruitment Consultant at FED ManuTech.

I'm currently recruiting for a well-established Canadian manufacturer specializing in custom-engineered industrial equipment used in demanding industrial and critical applications.

As part of the expansion of its ASME Section VIII-certified fabrication facility and the succession planning of a senior engineer, the company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong pressure vessel expertise. If you're looking for a role where your technical judgment is valued, where you'll work closely with manufacturing and where you'll have a direct impact on engineering decisions, this opportunity is worth exploring.

Mission

You'll join a small engineering team involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from design through manufacturing.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Designing pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Section VIII, CSA B51/B52, and customer requirements using Codeware COMPRESS.
-Reviewing, approving and sealing manufacturing drawings.
-Performing design calculations and managing CRN registrations.
-Developing welding procedures in accordance with ASME Section IX.
-Providing technical support to production, welding, purchasing and quality teams.
-Supporting piping design activities under ASME B31.1 and B31.3.
-Participating in regulatory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
-Sharing your expertise and supporting the development of the engineering team.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the technical integrity, compliance and manufacturability of highly specialized equipment.

Your profile

We're looking for an engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a practical manufacturing mindset.

You ideally have:
-Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
-Active membership with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
-Authorization to seal engineering drawings.
-Experience designing and manufacturing pressure vessels.
-Strong knowledge of ASME Sections II, V, VIII and IX, CSA B51/B52, and ASME B31.1/B31.3.
-Experience with Codeware COMPRESS.
-Intermediate English and professional French.

An Ontario P.Eng. designation would be considered a significant asset.

Why Join This Company?

You'll become part of a growing manufacturing organization where engineering works hand in hand with production.
Your expertise will be recognized, your opinion will influence technical decisions, and you'll contribute to the long-term development of an ASME-certified manufacturing operation while helping prepare the next generation of engineering leadership.

What You'll Receive:
-Permanent full-time position.
-Day shift, Monday to Friday.
-Based primarily in Laval, Québec.
-Hybrid flexibility may be available for candidates with highly specialized expertise.
-Competitive compensation based on experience and technical expertise. The company is prepared to go beyond its initial salary range to attract the right ASME pressure vessel specialist.
-Employer-paid group insurance.
-Employer-matched retirement savings plan.
-Paid unused sick days.
-Employee share ownership program.
-Ongoing professional development.
