Hello, I'm Bianka, Senior Team Leader at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in accounting, finance, and payroll positions. I handle both temporary and permanent recruitment in the Greater Montreal area.

Mission

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and working in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the full management of the payroll cycle for multiple entities within the organization.

Responsabilities

Payroll cycle management
• Manage full payroll for hourly and salaried employees (26 pay periods).
• Compile, verify, and transmit payroll data.
• Ensure legal compliance and apply internal policies.
• Update employee records and manage file openings/closures.

Administrative and legal payroll management
• Process garnishments, wage seizures, ROEs, salary increases, departures, and special leaves.
• Handle source deductions and government remittances.
• Prepare year‑end legal documents.
• Respond to government inquiries.

Policies and benefits administration
• Administer vacations, holidays, sick leave, personal leave, bonuses, allowances, and leave banks.
• Collaborate with HR on absences, new hires, and terminations.
• Validate invoices for group insurance, RRSPs, and pension plans.
• Participate in meetings with benefits providers.

Reporting and accounting compliance
• Prepare payroll‑related journal entries.
• Support month‑end and year‑end processes.
• Produce analytical reports for HR, Finance, and Management.

Support and continuous improvement
• Serve as the payroll point of contact.
• Contribute to improving payroll processes and tools.

Your profile

Required profile:

• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP); major asset
• Degree in administration, accounting, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of similar payroll experience, ideally in a multi‑company and multi‑province environment
• Bilingual (mandatory)
• Strong knowledge of labor laws and payroll standards in Québec and other Canadian provinces
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., EmployeurD, Dayforce, Nethris, ADP)
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (mandatory)
• Autonomy and strong attention to detail
• Discretion and high sense of confidentiality
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
