Mission
In the context of a transformation and restructuring of the procurement function, a major player in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Strategic Buyer – Logistics to play a key role in defining and implementing logistics strategies across Canada and the United States.
As a true business partner, you will work closely with strategic internal divisions and take ownership of logistics decisions, with a holistic view of the network, going far beyond an operational or transactional role.
Your Responsibilities:
Logistics Network Strategy & Optimization
Develop and implement the logistics procurement strategy (transportation, warehousing, 3PL) aligned with business objectives.
Actively contribute to the reorganization and optimization of the warehouse network, including number of sites, locations, capacities, and operational models.
Participate in the design or relocation of new logistics sites, in connection with factories and existing flows.
Analyze various scenarios (benchmarking, total costs, risks) and provide strategic recommendations.
Supplier Management & Performance
Qualify, select, and manage logistics suppliers and carriers.
Negotiate and implement commercial agreements, covering financial, operational, and contractual aspects.
Monitor performance indicators (SLAs) and drive continuous improvement plans.
Internal Consulting & Partnership
Serve as a strategic advisor to internal divisions (Fabric, Packaging).
Support teams in decisions related to logistics infrastructure.
Maintain market intelligence on trends, best practices, and logistics innovations.
Actively contribute to transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your profile
5 to 10 years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally within a logistics or industrial environment.
Strong experience in:
Warehousing and contract logistics
Logistics network optimization
Infrastructure design or network reorganization projects
Management of 3PL providers
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Strong command of sourcing strategies and advanced negotiation.
Excellent ability to analyze Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
