Mission
I’m currently looking, on behalf of one of our clients in the medical sector, for an Assistant Category Manager – Purchasing to support the Category Manager in the day-to-day management of several product families.
This position combines administrative, analytical, and coordination tasks, and is ideal for someone organized, curious, and eager to grow within a collaborative and dynamic team.
Main Responsibilities
Support the Category Manager in managing products, suppliers, and purchasing operations.
Track purchase orders (POs) and ensure that all actions are completed and nothing remains pending.
Create and update product data in the ERP system (new items, prices, supplier information).
Maintain accurate and updated databases for products, suppliers, and inventory levels.
Monitor supplier agreements and rebates according to defined timelines.
Assist in sales analysis and seasonal forecasts.
Verify supplier capability to deliver the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time.
Participate in vendor meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
Handle returns, discrepancies, and invoice issues with suppliers.
Collaborate closely with procurement, supply chain, and logistics teams.
Prepare and update reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Your profile
Profile Sought
Education: DEC or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience: 1 to 2 years in purchasing, logistics, or procurement (experience as a purchasing assistant is an asset).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of ERP systems (MS Dynamics AX is an asset).
Languages: Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).

Working Conditions
Salary: $47,000 to $52,000, depending on experience.
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Work model: Hybrid, with 2 remote days/week (Tuesday and Friday) after training.
