Mission
I am currently recruiting for a North American manufacturing leader recognized for its innovation and expertise in the design and production of electrical equipment. We are looking for a Project Engineer in Continuous Improvement and Product Development – 18 month Contract based around Longueuil.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will play a key role in optimizing production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development of new technological solutions. You will be involved in strategic projects designed to enhance operational performance and support the company’s growth in the context of energy transition.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to manufacturing methods, processes, and production layouts.
- Conduct technical and financial analyses for the acquisition of systems, equipment, and processes (technology watch, specifications, ROI, TRG, etc.).
- Lead projects in automation, equipment modernization, and production cell optimization (analysis, design, installation, validation, training, and follow-up).
- Facilitate and contribute to continuous improvement workshops (Ishikawa, SMED, Kaizen, 6-S).
- Propose and implement innovative solutions in health and safety.
- Improve the reliability and efficiency of equipment, tools, and components.
- Actively contribute to product development by defining appropriate manufacturing strategies to meet project and business objectives.

Your background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automated Production, or a related field.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector.
- Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (an asset).
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) – an asset.
- Functional bilingualism (French and English).
