Mission
I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a company in the agri-food industry, for an Industrial Project Engineer based on the South Shore of Montreal. You will be responsible for managing internal development projects (new plant openings, installation of new production lines) across North America (Canada and the U.S.).
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading industrial projects from A to Z: design, execution, monitoring, and closure
- Coordinating cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, etc.)
- Monitoring timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation plans
- Organizing and leading project meetings and ensuring smooth communication with all stakeholders (internal & external)
- Participating in the strategic planning of new production line implementation (up to 2 per year)
- Contributing to modernization initiatives: automation, energy optimization, office renovations
Occasional travel to the United States is required.
Your profile
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (OIQ membership required)
- 5 to 7 years of experience in technical project management within a manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge of the agri-food sector is essential
- Cross-functional experience (engineering, operations, R&D, quality, etc.)
- Strong command of project management fundamentals (planning, coordination, reporting, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, autonomy, and capacity for innovation
- Proactive and curious personality, comfortable in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments
Offered Conditions
- Total compensation: $100,000 to $120,000 + annual bonus
- Group insurance starting on day one (65% employer-paid)
- RRSP: 6% employer contribution
- 3 to 4 weeks of vacation based on experience
- 2 personal/flexible days
