Hello, I'm Bianka, Senior Team Leader at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in accounting, finance, and payroll. I handle both temporary and permanent recruitment in the Greater Montreal area.

Mission

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accounting Operations Management

• Oversee daily accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Payroll.
• Lead monthly and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee balance sheet account reconciliations and promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Coach, develop, and support the accounting team.
• Drive process automation initiatives to improve productivity and accuracy.
• Support external audit activities and coordinate with auditors (KPMG).

2. Accounts Payable Management

• Oversee the Accounts Payable function to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments for both merchandise and non-merchandise suppliers.
• Establish and maintain controls to prevent errors, fraud, and duplicate payments.
• Manage supplier relationships and efficiently resolve payment disputes and discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to procurement and payments.
• Continuously improve Accounts Payable processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and monitor performance through appropriate KPIs.

3. Systems, Transformation, and Process Improvement

• Evaluate and implement accounting systems and ERP solutions to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency, including the transition to Fidelio.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows and reduce manual processes.
• Ensure the integrity, security, and reliability of financial data within accounting systems.

4. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Analysis

• Partner with the FP&A team to develop annual budgets and periodic cash flow forecasts, with a focus on working capital management.
• Analyze below-EBITA items, including financing expenses, other income and expenses, and income taxes, and provide actionable insights.
• Monitor key financial metrics, including working capital performance.

5. Internal Controls, Compliance, and Risk Management

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial information.
• Perform regular reviews and assessments of financial processes and controls, including those related to new systems and technologies, through the program.
• Ensure compliance with financial, tax, and reporting regulations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.

6. Leadership and Team Development

• Build and maintain a high-performing finance team through effective recruitment, coaching, and talent retention.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Set clear objectives and performance expectations aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
• Promote adherence to ethical standards and corporate governance principles.

7. Collaboration and Communication

• Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
• Communicate financial performance and key business metrics to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Your profile

CANDIDATE PROFILE (QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS)

• 10 to 15+ years of relevant experience in a large corporate environment.
• University degree in Accounting with a CPA designation.
• Fully bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills required.
• Strong analytical, systems, process improvement, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Customer-service oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
• Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and bring innovative solutions.
• Strong business acumen, including the ability to prepare and present business reports for senior management.
• Adaptable to change and able to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and transformation.
