Mission

Position Summary
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Technician supports all purchasing activities by assisting internal clients, ensuring procurement compliance, and managing the administrative aspects of the purchasing process within a structured public-sector environment.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement
• Manage purchase requests and prepare requests for quotation (RFQs).
• Review supplier quotations and coordinate the administrative follow-up of procurement files.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of purchasing activities.
• Participate in group purchasing initiatives and conduct market research as required.

Compliance & Administration
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, policies, and internal procedures.
• Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Compile and analyze procurement-related data.
• Support reporting requirements for government agencies and regulatory bodies.

Process Improvement
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement procedures, templates, and reference documents.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal clients throughout the procurement process.
• Deliver training or information sessions on procurement procedures when required.

Your profile

Qualifications
Education & Experience
• College diploma (DEC) in Business Administration, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• Experience in procurement or a similar purchasing role.
• Experience in the public sector or with public tendering processes is considered an asset.

Technical Skills
• Good understanding of procurement processes and competitive bidding procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with an ERP system (Clara or equivalent) is an asset.
• Knowledge of public procurement legislation is considered an asset.
Soft Skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
• Customer service mindset and strong collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Languages
• Excellent written and spoken French.
• Functional English.

Working Conditions
• 12-month temporary contract with the possibility of extension.
• Full-time position (35 hours per week).
• Day shift, Monday to Friday (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
• Hourly rate: $27.78 to $37.08, based on experience.
• Hybrid work arrangement available following the onboarding period, depending on operational needs.
