Assistant Manager – Import

Mission

Position Summary
Our client, a large organization operating in a high-volume supply chain environment, is looking for an Assistant Manager – Import.
Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role supporting the import team. While the position does not have direct disciplinary authority, it will act as a key resource for the team and support the Manager with daily operations, performance management, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Manager with daily operations and workload organization.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
• Monitor KPIs, objectives, and operational performance.
• Prepare performance reports and follow-ups.
• Distribute and balance workloads according to priorities.
• Identify operational issues and contribute to problem-solving.
• Promote clear communication and collaboration within a multicultural team.
• Bring structure to daily operations and contribute to process improvements.
• Participate in recruitment and onboarding activities when required.

Your profile

Candidate Profile
• Approximately 5–7+ years of experience in imports, supply chain, or related operations.
• Previous experience as a Team Lead, Senior team member, Supervisor, or in a similar leadership role.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing employees.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including KPI tracking, reporting, and basic macros.
• Experience with an ERP system; SAP is an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Patient, collaborative leadership style with a strong coaching mindset.
• Ability to work effectively with multicultural teams.
• French and English; strong English communication skills are particularly important for this role.
