Mission
I'm currently recruiting for one of my clients, a well-established manufacturing company in the Montreal metropolitan area that specializes in plastic extrusion. They are looking to hire a Temporary Raw Materials Buyer for a day shift position.
The Role
Working closely with planning, project managers, production, and logistics, the selected candidate will play a key role in maintaining supply flow and supporting supply chain performance.
Main Responsibilities:
-Purchase all raw materials required to support continuous production operations.
-Lead and manage RFPs and supplier selection based on production needs, ensuring no supply interruptions.
-Monitor and analyze supplier performance indicators: delivery timelines, cost, quality, and service levels.
-Maintain thorough follow-up on supplier evaluation reports, including delivery notes and invoices.
-Conduct supplier audits as needed to ensure compliance with company standards and targets.
-Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders (planning, site management, project managers, production) to develop risk mitigation strategies, including alternative sourcing options.
-Keep all purchasing documentation up to date (orders, timelines, costs, invoices).
-Ensure efficient communication and distribution of relevant information to all internal parties.
Your profile
Proven experience purchasing raw materials in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (IQMS is a plus).
Bilingual in French and English (due to communication with suppliers across Canada and the U.S.).
Quick learner, able to manage priorities and thrive in a multicultural environment.
Professional attitude, strong team spirit, good communicator, and respectful.
Conditions:
Salary: $55,000 to $75,000 depending on experience
Location: Anjou (East Montreal), accessible by metro
Contract: Temporary position with potential for extension or permanence depending on company needs
