Mission
A company operating in the lighting and electronics manufacturing sector is currently looking for a Manufacturing Buyer with 3 to 5 years of procurement experience.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and purchasing components, materials, and products required for both production activities and new product development. The ideal candidate has solid knowledge of electronic components, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement
• Source and purchase various electronic components such as LED drivers, printed circuit boards (PCBs), wiring, power supplies, enclosures, and other related parts.
• Identify, analyze, and select new suppliers, both locally and internationally.
• Request and compare supplier quotations (RFQs) to ensure competitive conditions.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and supply agreements.
Supplier Management
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance using key indicators such as cost, quality, delivery, and service level.
• Work with suppliers to resolve issues related to delays, supply shortages, or quality concerns.
• Participate in supplier evaluations or audits when required.
Cost and Inventory Management
• Conduct cost analyses and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives related to procurement.
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
• Work closely with planning and production teams to anticipate material requirements.
• Contribute to improving inventory management practices, particularly in a just-in-time (JIT) and continuous improvement environment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and logistics teams.
• Support new product development (NPD) projects by sourcing required components.
• Ensure that purchased materials comply with technical specifications and regulatory standards such as UL, CE, and RoHS.
Systems and Documentation
• Create and manage purchase orders (POs) within the ERP/MRP system.
• Maintain accurate supplier records and procurement documentation.
• Track shipments and collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Your profile
Education and Experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (asset).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment or within the electronics industry.
• Experience in the lighting industry is considered an asset.
• Experience sourcing electronic components.
• Experience working with local and international suppliers, particularly in Asia, is considered an asset.
