Mission
Position Summary
Our client, a growing manufacturing and distribution company, is looking for a Buyer to join its team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operational purchasing, replenishment, and inventory management, primarily for raw materials. Beyond issuing purchase orders, this position has a strong analytical component: understanding forecasts, reviewing historical data and business requirements, and determining the appropriate quantities to purchase.
This role is well suited to an autonomous and analytical professional who can combine purchasing, inventory management, and sound decision-making in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and follow up on purchase orders.
• Manage replenishment and inventory levels across multiple locations.
• Analyze forecasts, historical consumption, and future requirements.
• Review data alongside information provided by Sales, Marketing, and other internal teams.
• Determine appropriate order quantities based on actual requirements and inventory levels.
• Identify inconsistencies and challenge system-generated recommendations when necessary.
• Manage existing suppliers and maintain strong business relationships.
• Coordinate raw material requirements across multiple warehouse locations.
• Work closely with Logistics, Sales, and Operations teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing and inventory management processes.
Your profile
Candidate Profile
• Approximately 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a similar role.
• Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or physical-goods environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience purchasing raw materials is a strong asset.
• Experience with replenishment and inventory management.
• International purchasing experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of forecasting and ability to translate data into purchasing decisions.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel.
• Knowledge of logistics is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions.
• Analytical, curious, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Languages
• Strong English skills required, both written and spoken, due to regular communication with international suppliers.
• French is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
• Permanent position, 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday.
