Mission
A company operating in the retail sector, managing an extensive network of stores across Québec as well as several distribution centers. The organization operates in a fast-paced environment, focused on offering accessible products to a broad customer base.
The Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Department, the Buyer is responsible for managing and sourcing a specific product category.
The role plays a key part in product selection, supplier management, and the optimization of the commercial performance of the assigned category.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage product sourcing based on store network needs and sales forecasts
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial terms (pricing, lead times, volumes, agreements)
- Monitor sales and inventory levels, adjusting purchase orders to optimize stock turnover
- Analyze product and supplier performance to support informed decision-making
- Identify growth opportunities, new products, and market trends
- Work closely with internal teams (operations, marketing, logistics, other buyers)
Your profile
-College diploma or equivalent education
-Relevant experience in purchasing, ideally within the retail industry
-Strong interest in the world of games (an asset)
-Solid Excel skills and comfort with data analysis
-Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and organizational skills
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
-Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
