Hello, I'm Bianka, Senior Team Leader at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in accounting, finance, and payroll positions. I handle both temporary and permanent recruitment in the Greater Montreal area.
Mission
Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, the Accounting Technician is responsible for performing various tasks related to the full accounting cycle, processing financial transactions, and providing administrative support related to accounting operations. They contribute to the accuracy of financial data and compliance with internal procedures, while working closely with the finance team and the company’s various departments.
Main tasks and responsibilities
• Record month-end closing entries (depreciation, salaries, etc.)
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards on a monthly basis
• Act as a support resource for the accounting clerks on the team (accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections)
• Perform various analyses at the Controller’s request
• Validate and document accounting processes to ensure compliance and consistency
• Collaborate in external audits by preparing the required files
• Provide administrative support to the accounting department and respond to requests from different departments
• Perform any other related tasks associated with the position
Your profile
Training / Experience / Certification
• DEC in accounting or administration
• At least five years of experience in a similar position
• Excellent understanding of the full accounting cycle
• Familiarity with basic tax rules (provincial sales taxes)
• Experience in the manufacturing sector (an asset)
Knowledge
• Knowledge of Quasimodo (an asset)
• Proficiency with the MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
Required skills and abilities
• Strong organizational skills and effective time and priority management
• Thoroughness and autonomy
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in English
