Automation Engineer

I’m currently looking for an Automation Engineer to join a fast-growing company located on the South Shore of Montreal. The firm is known for designing and building custom automated machinery for global clients, especially in the concrete industry.
Mission
Your Role :
As a key player within a collaborative and versatile team, you will:
• Define and plan all automation phases of each project.
• Supervise automation-related stakeholders.
• Support project cost estimates related to automation.
• Recommend strategies for optimal resource use.
• Provide technical support to clients and assist with in-house testing and on-site commissioning.
• Program and upgrade automated systems.
• Work closely with other departments: electrical, mechanical, machining, purchasing, and sales.
• Lead or collaborate in design reviews to align components with project needs.
• Specify electrical components and select appropriate suppliers.
• Draft service manuals, training guides, and technical documentation (including SR&ED reports).
• Oversee project quality and ensure machine safety compliance.
• Conduct site visits and participate in kick-off and post-project meetings.
Your profile
Your Profile
• University degree in automated production engineering or related field.
• Member of the OIQ (Quebec’s Order of Engineers).
• 10+ years of relevant experience in automation and machinery manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge in pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanics; hydraulics is a plus.
• Proficiency with Siemens platforms is required.
• Bilingual (French/English) – written and spoken.
• Strong project management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and passport – availability for international travel (3–10 weeks/year).
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments (preferably with machinery/equipment).
• Resourceful team player with a solutions-oriented mindset and great priority management.
Working Conditions
• On-site position in Candiac (no remote work).
• Competitive salary: $100,000 to $130,000 depending on experience.
